The Cat
Every night, when the guru sat down for
the prayers, the cat of the ashram entered and disturbed the presents.
So, the guru ordered that the cat was tied up during the service of the night.
After the death fo the guru, the cat continued being tied during the service of the night.
And, when the cat died, another cat was brought to the ashram, so that it could be
properly tied up during the service of the night.
Centuries later, learned books were written by the guru's pupils on the
liturgical meaning of tying a cat during the accomplishment of the religious service.
